i am a masters student at the university of cape town, where i am advised by jan buys and francois meyer. my research focuses on nlp with a particular research interest in tokenisation approaches that are more morphologically aware.

i did my undergraduate and honours degrees at the university of cape town where my research focused on using neural models for morphological analysis of the nguni languages.

i haven't done much research yet but i am interested in the following topics:

  • tokenisation
  • morphological analysis
  • neural networks
  • natural language processing
i have done some work in my undergraduate and honours degrees on using neural networks for morphological analysis of the nguni languages but none of it is published yet. i am currently working on a project that uses neural networks for morphological analysis of the nguni languages.
